Forming a Band

Star Karflugon 22-11-20.09.09: I really think it’s time to make our informal evening jams under the bridge official — I think we have the makings of a pretty good band on the ship here.

I, of course, am a multi-instrumentalist and a natural songwriter every time I visit a space toilet, so we have more than enough content already for our first album. Shipward has proven to be a versatile and inventive session musician, especially since he built those synthesizers out of the spare parts from our last ship. And then we all know how our fearless Captain can carry a tune… although we will need to work on getting him to carry the same tune that the rest of us are playing. But that will come with a bit more practice.

Of course, as with so many bands across the universe, we are in need of a bass player. And not just a guitar player who thinks the bass is a simpler version of guitar. And being stuck here on Lurf, the prospects are not looking good.

As we all know, good bass players exclusively come from outer space… specifically from the Pastorius nebula… and even more specifically from planet Jacko. We’ll have to swing by there if possible the next chance we get. In the meantime, I’ve asked Shipward to activate the sub-octave on his synth to provide some low end that way.
